Inspired Placemaking

Our Story

Pointglen Developments was started by the four Vassallo brothers around 30 years ago when they subdivided the family cane farm in Glenella, Mackay.

Since then, Pointglen has grown from creating Mackay’s first lifestyle community at Northview Gardens to becoming the Mackay regions largest developer and civil contractor.

Pointglen are dedicated to creating thriving communities and amazing spaces. At the heart of every project is a deep commitment to quality and lifestyle which is leveraged through our inhouse expertise in construction, engineering, and planning. Pointglen continues to grow and create amazing communities.

Our Cornerstones

We have great people in our team…
an amazing team of expertise and experience that get it done.

And those people make great places…
from our developments team through to our company.

And those places have great value …
to the company and to the Mackay communities we develop.

And great value attracts great people …
that value attracts amazing people to our organisation and our communities.

Mackay Mayors Ball

Supporting Mackay

MACKAY MAYORS CHARITY BALL

Every year Pointglen Developments contribute to several local charitable events, including the Mackay Mayors Charity Ball. In 2022, we chose a Bronze sponsorship level and contributed towards this amazing local event.

The 2022 Ball smashed all records, with 434 people attending and raising a record amount of $135,121 (including GST), which was split equally between two beneficiaries.

HeartKids Mackay and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), which is building a Ronald McDonald Family Room at Mackay Base Hospital, each received $60,804.

FLAGON AND DRAGON

For over 30 years an exclusive & truly unique event has taken place in Mackay. Over just a few hours, on a Friday afternoon in October, 200 local business people join forces for an afternoon of fun, frivolity & above all – FUNDRAISING!

Funds raised are donated to the Children’s Wards at both Mackay Base and Mackay Mater Hospitals. These funds allow the hospitals to purchase equipment allowing children to be treated at home rather than travelling afield.

Pointglen Developments have been long supporters of this local event and last year raised in excess of $15,000
